Scary, scary day for the sport’s elite. Five of the top seven teams lost, including No. 1 Georgia (to unranked Auburn), No. 2 Notre Dame (to eighth-ranked BYU), and No. 7 Texas (to unranked Florida). It was also the second straight week the top-ranked team was taken down. The last time that happened, Cheers was on TV. Here’s more on a wild Saturday that had it all: roaring comebacks, turnovers, bad calls, no calls, and cruel defeats — all in the shadow of a 24-team playoff looming overhead.
