RIYADH — As of Wednesday, donations to the sixth edition of National Charity Campaign through the Ehsan platform have exceeded SR1 billion.Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman have donated a total of SR70 million to the campaign, which was launched on Feb. 20, the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. A total of SR646 million has been raised on the first day of the campaign. On behalf of the Crown Prince, Emir of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar honored benefactors of the campaign in Riyadh on March 6. The campaign operates with advanced digital governance that empowers the community to donate through official and secure channels for the services and programs offered by the Ehsan platform. It is worthy to note that the Ehsan platform operates with the support of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and enjoys continuous support from the wise leadership to enable its work according to high-level governance standards. This ensures the secure receipt and delivery of donations to those who deserve to receive them. A Shariah committee oversees the platform to ensure its operations comply with the provisions of Islamic Shariah. Since its launch in 2021, the Ehsan platform has supported charitable initiatives across the Kingdom. Individual and institutional benefactors have so far contributed more than SR15 billion through over 330 million donation transactions.
