The Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream 87-85 in Game 3 of their first-round playoff contest to win their first playoff series since 2015. The Fever, who lost Game 1, kept the Dream scoreless in the final 2:30 of the game and scored seven unanswered points to win the game. “We work so hard, and I'm just so proud of our group for staying with it. I mean, it's just insane that we're playing in the semifinals. We believed it, but there's so many people out there that didn't. And so we've got another series," said Lexie Hull. Indiana was trailing by two points with 3:21 left in the game when Brianna Turner recorded her first bucket to tie the score at 80-80. The Dream’s Brionna Jones responded with a layup before teammate Rhyne Howard’s three-pointer gave Atlanta an 85-80 lead with 2:32 left. The Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell, who top-scored with 24 points and led the scoring in every game, and Hull both scored to cut the deficit to one point. After Howard missed a three-pointer, Odyssey Sims found Boston under the basket with the three-time All-Star converting the layup and giving the Fever an 86-85 lead with 7.4 seconds left. Hull would then steal the resulting inbound pass, forcing the Dream to foul, with Sims converting one of the two free throws. Jones would miss a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Fever the win and set up a semifinal clash against the Las Vegas Aces.
