JEDDAH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has forecast rainfall and thunderstorms across parts of Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Makkah through the end of the week. The center released an animated weather map illustrating the expected intensity of rainfall and thunderstorm activity, along with their projected movement. According to outputs from the Saudi Numerical Model, rainfall is expected to begin affecting the Asir Region on Monday afternoon, intensifying around its capital, Abha, before subsiding later in the day. Similar conditions are forecast to return on Tuesday afternoon, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected around Abha. Meanwhile, scattered light showers are expected over the Taif area and southern parts of the Makkah Region. By Wednesday afternoon, heavy rainfall is forecast across much of southern Jazan before gradually shifting toward western Asir and southern Al Baha. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to persist in parts of southern Jazan. On Thursday afternoon, light showers are expected over limited areas around the Holy Capital and northwestern Asir. Rainfall is then forecast to intensify briefly in both locations before dissipating completely by evening. Friday afternoon is expected to bring scattered light rain across parts of Jazan and southern Asir. The rainfall will gradually expand along the Jazan–Asir border, extending across western Asir. Light showers are also forecast along the corridor between the Holy Capital and Taif. By evening, rainfall is expected to weaken across all affected regions before clearing completely later in the night.
