Organizers have announced that Mariah Carey will perform at the opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics. In a video shared on Instagram by Carey and the Olympics’ official account, the singer, wearing a glamorous red gown, said “Ciao! Get ready for Milano Cortina 2026.” “See you at the Stadio San Siro on the 6th of February for the Olympic opening ceremony,” Carey continued, showing off her Italian with “Ci vediamo a Milano.” The Olympics noted that Carey's performance will “define an unforgettable Opening Ceremony." The 2026 Winter Olympics is set to take place from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. This comes after the 2024 Summer Olympics opening ceremony made headlines thanks to performances by Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and the heavy metal band Gojira. Carey’s song, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ recently became the longest-running number one song in Billboard Hot 100 history, extending its 2025 reign to 20 weeks.
