UPDATE — 10/27/25, 9:35 a.m. ET: The New York Giants issued an update about rookie running back Cam Skattebo after he suffered a frightening injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team announced that Skattebo, 23, underwent surgery at a local hospital in the Philadelphia area on Sunday, October 26, for a dislocated ankle. The injury happened earlier in the day when the Giants and Eagles squared off at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. Skattebo’s surgery means that the Giants star is done for the season. “If all is good and clean and the surgery went as well as everyone believes, he should be back with no issues for next year,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said on Monday, October 27. “It’s a gruesome injury, but the recovery is actually not as bad.” Skattebo, who was in the midst of a star-making season, broke his silence about the injury on Monday morning. As a result, his ankle got stuck between the field and Zack Baun, the Eagles linebacker who was making the tackle. As Skattebo, 23, was sitting on the field after the play, teammates immediately called for medical help. His right ankle was sitting out of place, turned all the way to the right. The medical cart came onto the field as Skattebo’s ankle was put into an aircast and he was taken off the field. Teammates greeted Skattebo as he was being driven off the field and he was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game.
