Several reports claim that Apple could shake up the iPhone 17 lineup next year by introducing a slimmer version of the iPhone. Following Apple's footsteps, Samsung could launch a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 next year, at least according to some reports.
This isn't the first time rumors of a slimmer Galaxy S25 version have appeared. A similar report appeared in May 2024.
A report from ETNews claims that Samsung is readying a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 to be released in 2025. Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, the slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 will reportedly focus on being thinner. Samsung is said to use this phone to gauge the response to a slim, high-end phone. If it receives a good response from consumers, Samsung will change the Galaxy S26 lineup to include a slim version.
Since the launch of the Galaxy S20, Samsung has been launching three variants: base, Plus, and Ultra. Early next year, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. A few months later, the company could launch the Galaxy S25 Slim.
Usually, Samsung launches foldable phones in the second half of each year. However, the design has stagnated over the past 3-4 years, and Samsung hasn't made significant strides in terms of specifications. With the launch of the Galaxy S25 Slim, the company may be able to entice some customers who want a differentiated design with a slimmer profile.

Apple's iPhone 17 Slim is said to feature a 6.56-inch screen, which slots between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Plus. Whether Samsung also chooses a 6.56-inch screen for the Galaxy S25 Slim remains to be seen. To make such a thin phone, Samsung must use a thinner OLED panel and a thinner battery.
