Like Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy smartwatches get major new One UI updates every year. For 2024, that update is One UI 6 Watch, which is based on Google’s Wear OS 5 and Android 14 and was introduced with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra in July.
On November 19, Samsung announced the official rollout of the One UI 6 Watch update, following several months of beta testing. Which smartwatches are eligible for the One UI 6 Watch and Wear OS 5 update? Will your model get the update?
One UI 6 Watch will come to every Galaxy smartwatch that is powered by Wear OS. The full list includes the following watches:
The Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic were the first to get this anticipated update, and it will arrive on other watches in a phased manner. It may take until the end of the year before it's available for every user with a compatible watch globally, as Samsung usually takes a slower, more measured approach for the rollout of One UI updates for wearable devices compared to smartphones and tablets.
One UI 6 Watch brings several exciting new features, including health and fitness tracking functionality powered by Galaxy AI, various gestures for more convenient hands-free operation, quick access to your favorite emojis when typing directly on the watch, and improved battery protection options.
The update also introduces new watch faces that come preloaded on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
