It is raining software updates for the Galaxy S21 FE. Last month, Samsung released Android 15-based One UI 7.0 to the smartphone. A few days later, it offered the May 2025 security patch. It has been roughly ten days since then, and now, the brand is rolling out another software update to the device. It brings the June 2025 security patch, which fixes 19 security issues.
Currently, the tech giant is rolling out the update to the variant of the Galaxy S21 FE that has the Exynos 2100 chipset and the one that it sells mainly in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and North America. It has the model number SM-G990E. We expect the brand to release it to other variants and in more regions soon. The new firmware carries version G990EXXSFGYF1.
To update your Galaxy S21 FE to the latest firmware, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If you don’t see an update, then it means that Samsung hasn’t made it available for your device yet, and you will have to wait a few more days. If you don’t want to wait, you can download the firmware from our database and install it manually using Odin.
Speaking of software updates, Samsung is testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0, and the Galaxy S21 FE is eligible for it. So far, the brand has released its beta version to the Galaxy S25 series. After successfully completing the testing, it will release the stable version. The company may first offer it to new and high-end devices and then to old and more affordable ones.
