Samsung has released a new update for the entire Galaxy S21 lineup in the USA. Yes, the entire lineup is getting an update around the same time for a change, including the Galaxy S21 FE.
The update is only out for some carrier-locked variants for now, but that should change soon. Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra owners can identify the update by the build number G99*USQSGHYF2; for the Galaxy S21 FE, it sports the build number G990USQSHHYF4.
You can download it over the air by entering your phone's Settings » Software update menu and tapping the Download and install button. Alternatively, you can download Galaxy S21 firmware from our archive and install it on your phone using a Windows PC.
The latest Galaxy S21-series update comes packed with fixes from the June 2025 security patch. The June patch fixes 19 vulnerabilities found in Samsung's software and dozens that affect the core Android operating system. More details about those vulnerabilities can be found here.
If you weren't already aware, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra will only receive security updates in the future, as they received their final major OS upgrade—One UI 7.0/Android 15—recently. The Galaxy S21 FE, however, is eligible for the One UI 8 (Android 16) update. It will likely receive One UI 8.5 as well, after which it will join its siblings in receiving only security updates till the end of support.
