At first glance, the Galaxy S25 FE doesn’t look like much of an upgrade when it comes to processing power. Samsung has equipped it with the Exynos 2400, the same chip found in the Galaxy S24 and S24+. But compared to last year’s Galaxy S24 FE, this is technically a step up.

That’s because the Galaxy S24 FE used the Exynos 2400e, a slightly scaled-down version of the 2400. The “e” variant featured the same 10-core architecture and AMD-powered Xclipse GPU, but its most powerful CPU core was clocked a little lower (3.11GHz instead of 3.21GHz).

In everyday use, most people wouldn’t notice the difference, and benchmarks showed performance was only a few percent lower. Still, moving from the 2400e to the full Exynos 2400 does count as an upgrade, as minor as it may be. The Galaxy S25 FE now runs on the same chip as Samsung’s main flagship models from last year.

In reality, this won’t change how the phone feels for users. Apps, multitasking, and even games will perform much the same as they did on the S24 FE. The bigger improvements may instead come from software.

The Galaxy S25 FE launches with One UI 8 and Android 16, which bring more fluid animations and under-the-hood optimizations. Of course, the Galaxy S24 FE will also be updated to One UI 8, but having it preloaded on the S25 FE may give the newer phone an edge as far as smoothness is concerned.

The Exynos 2400 is paired with 8GB of RAM no matter which storage variant you purchase. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with availability varying by market.

In addition to the full-spec Exynos 2400, the Galaxy S25 FE comes with a larger battery. That's not all. The S25 FE also supports 45W fast charging, up from 25W on all previous models, which Samsung claims can charge the battery to 65% in 30 minutes.
