Samsung recently announced it will unveil the Galaxy S25 on January 22. Ahead of the phone's announcement, some additional information about the phone's design and specifications has been revealed. A new leak says the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be lighter and have faster wireless charging.
After a recent leak revealed that Samsung will sell a first-party Qi2-compatible case for the Galaxy S25 series, WPC revealed yesterday that Samsung's upcoming phones will be ‘Qi2 Ready' (using Qi v2.1 specification).
The devices were still expected to charge wirelessly with 15W of power. However, according to reliable tipster Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely have 25W wireless charging, thanks to Qi2.
It isn't clear if this faster charging is due to the implementation of a newer version of Qi2 or if Samsung has done some custom implementation that requires a proprietary charger. Things will only get clearer when it launches its new devices later this month.
The leak also reveals that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is thinner (8.2mm) and lighter (219g) than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The device reportedly features a Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. A previous leak claimed that the phone would have 3,000 nits of peak brightness. So, we need to wait to see which claim is correct.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip across the globe. It will come in three RAM and storage combinations:
Previous leaks revealed that Samsung is sticking with a 5,000mAh battery for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Roland claimed that the phone will stick with 45W fast wired charging.
