It looks like Samsung is racing to bring One UI 7 to as many devices as possible before June. The company started this week off with a bang, releasing the update to several mid-range and budget phones and tablets, and it is also making the update available more widely for some devices.
The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ first received the One UI 7 update on May 14 in Korea, and now, less than a week later, owners of the two tablets in Europe can make the upgrade as well. The update is a ~3.6GB download over the air and includes the April 2025 security patch in addition to various One UI 7 features.
If you have a Galaxy Tab S9 FE series tablet, you can now install the new update by heading into its Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install. You can also download One UI 7 firmware for various devices from our firmware archive.
This update brings several new features, including a refreshed UI with fluid animations and transitions, new app icons, new widgets for both the home screen and lock screen, and faster Gemini access via the power button. A highlight is the Now Bar, which shows live notifications for media playback and other tasks in the status bar and the lock screen.
One UI 7, based on Android 15, is the second major operating system upgrade for the Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9 FE+. The lineup is eligible for two more such upgrades. For those wondering, Samsung will not make you wait as long for the next one, One UI 8 (Android 16).
