Samsung has released its first software update of the year for Galaxy Watches. The Galaxy Watch 6 series has started getting a new software update to fix bugs and issues with the previous software.
The new software update is now rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in several countries. The update comes with firmware version R940XXU1BXL2 and brings bug fixes.
Sadly, the update doesn't bring the January 2025 security patch. In fact, it doesn't even bring the December or November 2024 patch. Both Galaxy Watch 6 series smartwatches are still on the October 2024 security patch. The official changelog just mentions improved stability.
Some Galaxy Watch 6 users are reporting that they are seeing a new design for the Stress Measurement tile. It now seems to be showing your stress levels in words rather than just an indicator on the circular scale.
The Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic received the One UI 6 Watch update based on Wear OS 5 a few months ago. That update brought several new features, including Energy Score, better sleep analysis, refreshed UI design language, a new font, gestures, and a Quick Panel redesign.
The update also brought app notification settings directly to the watch. It also introduced new notification cards.
