On Wednesday, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and with that, showcased the stable version of Android 16-based One UI 8.0. Considering that the brand was expected to release the new software to eligible devices after the launch, people have been eagerly waiting for it.
Now, Samsung is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Unfortunately, it doesn’t bring One UI 8 as you were expecting. Instead, it offers the July 2025 security patch, which fixes security issues mentioned here. At the moment, the brand has released the update for the phone’s South Korean variant (SM-F741N).
The new firmware carries version F741NKSS2BYFC. We expect the company to release the update to other variants of the phone and in other regions very soon. Once the brand makes the update available for your Galaxy Z Flip 6, you can get it by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can head to our firmware section, download the firmware, and install it manually using Samsung’s Odin tool.
At the moment, there’s no information about when Samsung will release One UI 8 to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Until then, you can check out our complete One UI 8 guide to know about the upgrades it offers over One UI 7.
