The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE) may be exclusive to just two countries and sold in extremely limited quantities, but that isn't stopping Samsung from releasing regular software updates for it.
The Galaxy Z Fold SE launched in October 2024 and has received an update every month since then; this month is no different. The Fold SE is getting its third software update this week. The update is available in Korea, and those who imported the phone to another country like we did should be able to download it as well.
The latest Galaxy Z Fold SE update brings the January 2025 security patch. You can identify it by the build number F958NKSS2AXLF. Samsung has only packed security fixes in the latest firmware for its best and costliest foldable smartphone. Everything else on the phone will remain the same as before after the January update has finished installing.
It will be interesting to see when the Fold SE will get the One UI 7 (Android 15) update. February seems like a safe bet, as that's when Samsung is expected to bring One UI 7 to several flagships, including all eligible Galaxy S models.
To download the latest update, navigate to your phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install. You may take the alternative route of downloading the full-sized firmware from SamMobile and installing it on the device using a Windows PC and a USB cable.
