The size of the cover screen of Samsung's tri-folding smartphone has been leaked. At the Galaxy S25 launch event, Samsung teased several new phones that it is working on, confirming that it has a “multi-fold” smartphone in development.
This multi-fold smartphone is one we have been hearing about in rumors for some time, and while rumors suggest the device could launch as early as the third quarter this year, not a lot of information about it has made its way online.
The device's tri-folding display—or dual-folding display, to be more accurate, as this device will technically only need to fold/unfold twice—is expected to be around 10 inches when unfolded, and if the latest information from analyst Ross Young is accurate, the cover display for both this device and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure 6.49 inches.
That's pretty much the same size as the cover screen on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, suggesting that Samsung is finally ditching the narrow cover display we have seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and older foldable Galaxy smartphones for good.
No matter how big the cover screen will be, we're just glad there is a cover screen. Unlike Huawei's tri-folding phone, Samsung's will not have its foldable display exposed, which is the right way to go about it.
For those wondering, Samsung's device will probably look something like the Flex G concept you see in the image below. Essentially just a book you fold twice instead of once, and depending on how lazy you are, that may dictate how often you use the cover display.
