Samsung has announced the ‘Galaxy Easy Compensation' program in South Korea. It is a program that lets people easily sell their old and used Galaxy phones directly on Samsung's website. People don't need to buy a new phone while selling the older one.
The Galaxy Easy Compensation program will be launched in South Korea on the 14th of January 2025. It allows people to sell old and used Galaxy phones via Samsung's website. Unlike traditional trade-in programs, people don't need to buy a new phone after selling the older one.
People can check the estimated price of the device they want to sell. Once they decide to sell it, they can send their phone to Samsung via courier. The company will then grade their phone into three categories: Excellent, Good, and Recycle. An appropriate compensation will then be sent to the user.
The eligible models include the following Galaxy phones:
Samsung says it plans to expand the program to other countries soon but hasn't revealed the names of those countries.
The story continues after our video below.
The company hasn't started accepting older Galaxy Tab devices yet. Hopefully, the company will allow people to sell their old Galaxy laptops, smartwatches, and tablets in the future.
Samsung Electronics Korea Vice President Jeong Ho-jin said, “We expect that this program will increase the long-term value of Galaxy products and contribute to the circular economy.“
