Samsung has improved many features with the One UI 7.0 update. While some important improvements were mentioned in the changelog, several changes never made it there. People have been discovering them over the past few weeks. One such improvement is support for faster Ethernet speeds.
It has been revealed that Samsung has upped the Ethernet speeds from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps on the Galaxy S24 with the One UI 7.0 beta update. This change was spotted by a Reddit user, who posted pictures of the faster speeds, the Ethernet adapter they used, and the screenshots of two Galaxy S24 Ultras (one with One UI 6.1 and the other with One UI 7.0).
The Ethernet adapter they used is the SABRENT USB C to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet LAN Adapter. The Reddit user claimed that their mother's Galaxy S24 Ultra, which runs One UI 6.1, either throttles the speed with the same Ethernet adapter or doesn't work at all.
This is just one of the few improvements that Samsung has introduced with One UI 7.0. For some reason, if you want to use an Ethernet connection with your Galaxy S24 instead of Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 7, you can now get faster speeds.
Hopefully, this improvement will also be brought to all One UI 7.0 compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. Most Galaxy S smartphones and tablets have a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port.
