Samsung's next Unpacked event, where the company will introduce the Galaxy S24 series, is expected to take place next month. The company hasn't said anything about prices yet, but a new report claims that Samsung intends to stay competitive by copying this year's price tags.
The Galaxy S24 lineup, which should consist of a base, a Plus, and an Ultra model, will reportedly hit the market for the same prices as the Galaxy S23 series.
Assuming this information is accurate (via Hankyung), the Galaxy S24 will go on sale for $799, the Galaxy S24+ will cost $999, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will set customers back $1,199. Prices will be higher for the variants with extra memory.
By releasing the Galaxy S24 series for the same prices, Samsung reportedly aims to increase sales by 10% in the recovering smartphone market. The company expects to sell at least 33 million Galaxy S24s.
The report mentions that choosing the Exynos 2400 chip for the base and Plus variants in select markets will help Samsung maintain this year's prices. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip everywhere.
The Galaxy S24 will be Samsung's first AI phone, and other reports suggest that the company strongly believes the next-gen flagship will redefine the smartphone. These tech advancements are bound to turn some heads, and maintaining competitive prices should increase the Galaxy S24's chances of success, especially if the market recovers.
According to leaks, Samsung will host the next Unpacked event on January 17 in San Jose, California.
