Samsung has launched an AI Subscription Club plan in South Korea. However, you don't need to worry; it isn't a paid tier for Galaxy AI features on smartphones and tablets. It is a consumer program where they can rent AI-equipped Samsung appliances at a monthly fee.
Yesterday, Samsung launched the AI Subscription Club program in South Korea. It allows consumers to use Samsung's AI-equipped products for a certain period by paying a monthly subscription fee. This allows more consumers to try out Samsung's high-end appliances and AI features before buying those devices.
This subscription can be used to rent refrigerators, TVs, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and more. Under some plans, if a device malfunctions despite operating in optimal conditions, it will be repaired for free. Once they subscribe to this plan, they will get an AI Subscription Club Samsung Card.
The All-In-One plan lets users combine products, repair services, self-care, and at-home service visits. The plan can be subscribed for up to 60 months and can be canceled mid-way. The Kimchi Refrigerator, which costs KRW 3 million ($2,176), can be subscribed at a monthly rent of KRW 10,000 ($7).
The ‘Smart' plan allows users to subscribe to a product and one service of their choice. They can either choose the free repair or care service and subscribed from 36 months to 60 months.
These care plans include detailed product inspection, replacement of consumables parts, and exterior and interior cleaning. Samsung is also planning to expand the AI Subscription Club to include remote diagnosis and repair services in the future.
Samsung has tied up with several brands to offer discounts on their services. Those brands include CJ CheilJedang, Daemyung I'm Ready Mutual Aid, Everland, Millie's Library, Shilla Duty Free, SK Broadband, Yellow Balloon and seven food companies.
Yonghoon Kim, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics in Korea, said, “We plan to expand subscription products so that more consumers can experience the ‘AI life’ in the future. With the launch of this ‘AI Subscription Club,’ we will complete the ‘AI=Samsung’ formula and realize the vision of ‘AI for All’ in all areas.“
