A lot of Galaxy devices still haven't received their first security update of 2025, but Samsung is already plowing ahead with preparations for the second one. The company has released details of the security fixes that are coming to Galaxy devices with the February 2025 security patch.
As always, the latest patch brings fixes from Google for vulnerabilities that affect all Android devices, in addition to a few that only pose a risk on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. In the list of vulnerabilities affecting the core Android OS, one is marked critical and nearly three dozen are considered high-risk.
Samsung, meanwhile, has provided fixes for seven security flaws for Galaxy devices. Notably, a few vulnerabilities that affected devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets on Android versions 12 to 14 have been patched, along with one exploit that could put Galaxy smartwatches running the latest version of Wear OS and Samsung One UI Watch at risk.
Samsung hasn't released the February 2025 update for any Galaxy device at the time of writing, but that shouldn't be the case for long. For some phones, Samsung may include this month's security patch with the Android 15 / One UI 7 update. That update is expected to start rolling out in the next couple of weeks.
