The rollout of One UI 7 (Android 15) may not have started in earnest even by mid-April, but that hasn't stopped Samsung from marching ahead with development of One UI 8 (Android 16). One UI 8 is unique in that it is the first major One UI update since, well, One UI's debut back in 2018 that will not be preceded by point updates based on the previous One UI version.
As always, Samsung fans are wondering if their Galaxy phone or tablet is eligible for the next big One UI (and Android) update. And as always, Samsung has not revealed an official list of supported devices, leaving us to use the company's update policy for reference and a bit of guesswork to come up with a tentative list.
You can find a list of Galaxy phones and tablets eligible for One UI 8 below. This list is by no means exhaustive, but we will keep updating it as we receive new information, so make sure you check back from time to time.
One UI 8 is expected to be a minor update that is more about refining everything Samsung introduced in One UI 7. We went hands-on with an early version of One UI 8 on a Galaxy Z Flip 6 and found very little in the way of new features.
As far as the release date is concerned, One UI 8 could start rolling out by late July or early August. That's just speculation based on what our sources have told us, but since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are launching with One UI 8 preloaded, we can expect it to start making its way to eligible devices much earlier than any previous version of One UI, not just One UI 7.
