When we talk about generative artificial intelligence assistants, the first ones that come to mind are OpenAI’s Chat GPT, Google’s Gemini, xAI’s Grok, and Microsoft’s Copilot. However, there’s one more GenAI chatbot that is rapidly gaining popularity, and that is Perplexity AI, and now, you can get its paid subscription plan, called Pro, for a year, which costs $200, for free if you are a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet user living in the United States of America.
On Reddit, a user from the USA discovered an offer in their Samsung phone’s Galaxy Store that provides Perplexity Pro for a year for free. To avail this offer, go to the Galaxy Store, search for Perplexity AI, download it, open the app, and sign in with a free account or sign up. Voila, you now enjoy Perplexity Pro for a year without paying anything. If you already have the app, uninstall it, then install the app again from the Galaxy Store to avail the paid subscription for free.
Perplexity AI’s free tier offers unlimited basic searches, which is what most people need in their day-to-day life. However, it lets you use more advanced features only a certain number of times a day. For example, you can use the Pro search and Deep Search three times each per day, and search within only five files each day.
On the other hand, Perplexity AI’s paid subscription plan, Pro, offers unlimited Pro searches, bumps the limit of Deep Search to 500 per day, allows you to search within twenty-five files each day, and also lets you select different large language models, including Sonar, Claude 4.0 Sonnet, GPT-4.1, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 3 Beta, R1 1776, o3, and Claude 4.0 Sonnet Thinking. As such, this is more suitable for people relying heavily on GenAI assistants.
Fortunately, Galaxy smartphone and tablet users can now access it for free rather than paying $20 per month or $200 for a year. The latest offer could be a result of Samsung investing in Perplexity to bring it to Bixby, Samsung Internet, and the Galaxy S26 series.
