Samsung released Galaxy AI, the brand’s suite of AI-powered features for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, on 17 January 2024 with the Galaxy S24 series. By the end of the year, the brand expanded it to 200 million devices.
Well, the tech giant has now announced that it commits to expand Galaxy AI to over 400 million devices by the end of 2025. In other words, the brand will double the reach of its suite of AI-powered tools in the next five months.
Commenting on the commitment, Samsung Electronics' Corporate Executive Vice President & Head of Language AI Team, Jisun Park, said “Some see AI as the start of a ‘post smartphone’ era, but we see it differently. We’re building a future where your devices don’t just respond, they become smarter to anticipate, see, and work quietly in the background to make life feel a little more effortless.”
According to Samsung, over 70% of Galaxy S25 uses actively engage with AI tools from Samsung and Google. It further adds that Google Gemini has had the most noticeable growth with its usage tripling since the inception.
Commenting on it, Google’s Vice President for Android Consumer Product & Experience, Mindy Brooks, said “Through close collaboration with Samsung, Gemini works seamlessly across its devices and connects with its first-party apps to provide helpful and personalised responses. For example, Gemini’s live video capabilities have been optimized for the Flip's front screen camera, and Gemini on Galaxy Watch leverages context from your phone.”
Samsung has also conducted a research with Symmetry Research about “how AI is transforming daily life.” It reveals “growing reliance on mobile AI and evolving expectations for more personalised, proactive features.”
Plus, the study reveals that “47% of consumers say their daily routines would be disrupted without AI tools such as personalised notifications, AI-powered search, and voice assistance” and “5% now use voice commands as often as they type – highlighting a shift in how users interact with their devices.” According to the brand, these trends “point to growing demand for multimodal, intelligent, and intuitive AI experiences.”
