While Samsung is launching its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S25, next month, it is readying several affordable phones for those who can't afford high-end devices. One such device is the Galaxy M16, which is a slightly modified version of the upcoming Galaxy A16.
Its design has leaked, revealing Galaxy S24's design ethos.
Even though the phone hasn't been announced yet, the press renders of the Galaxy M16 5G have been revealed. The images were published by Android Headlines, revealing all its color variants. The phone will come in three colors: Light Green, Light Pink, and Black.
The phone looks quite similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy M15 5G, from the front. It has the same U-shaped cutout on the display to accommodate the front-facing camera. However, the Galaxy M16 5G appears to have relatively thinner bezels.
Its sides are completely flat, and its corners are rounded, similar to those of the Galaxy S24. On the rear, it has three vertically aligned cameras in the top left corner of the device, similar to the Galaxy S24. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader (also a power button) and a volume rocker on the right side. On the left, it has a SIM card tray.
Previous reports revealed that the Galaxy M16 5G will come equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which has two high-performance CPU cores. It will have 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a microSD card slot. It will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
It likely has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its three rear-facing cameras include a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it could have a 13MP camera. It could have GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
The phone could be launched in the first quarter of 2025, as the Galaxy M15 5G was launched in March 2024. It will likely run Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box and get six major Android OS updates.
