Samsung's smartphone sales have stayed flat in the USA as the end of the year is approaching. The company ranked second in the country where Apple still dominates. Motorola's market share has improved this year thanks to its value-for-money lineup.
According to an analysis from Counterpoint Research, Samsung was the second biggest smartphone brand in the USA. Its market share was 23% in the third quarter of this year, which is similar to figures from the same quarter of last year.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 during the third quarter, and it looks like they haven't increased the company's sales. Sales could improve in the fourth quarter, mostly led by festive offers.
While Apple is still dominating the US smartphone market, its market share has declined from 55% in Q2 2023 to 53% in Q3 2024. The US-based firm launched the iPhone 16 series in September, but sales haven't been as good as they were last year.
Lenovo, which owns Motorola, has seen its sales improve. The company's market share increased from 9% in Q3 2023 to 14% in Q3 2024. While Google's sales improved 19% compared to last year, it is still not in the top four rankings.
Samsung launched a higher-specced version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it is called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. However, the phone is only available in China (with the W25 name) and South Korea.
