Samsung recently launched its thinnest-ever smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge. It is the fourth model in the Galaxy S25 series, and it is positioned above the Galaxy S25+ and below the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of pricing. The company has revealed that the phone is now being manufactured in India.
The South Korean firm confirmed to PTI (via The Economic Times) that it has started manufacturing the Galaxy S25 Edge in India. The phone is being manufactured at its smartphone plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This is Samsung's biggest smartphone plant in the world in terms of units manufactured.
The Galaxy S25 Edge units manufactured in India will likely be sold in India and exported to other countries as well. Samsung also manufactures its phones in South Korea and Vietnam.
Samsung has experimenting with the Galaxy S25 Edge to see how big a market there is for ultra-slim and ultra-light high-end phones. The phone has a screen that is as big (6.7-inch) as the one on the Galaxy S25+, but it is slimmer than any other Samsung smartphone ever launched, and it weighs similar to the much smaller Galaxy S25.
It is priced at INR 109,990 in India for the 256GB version, but you can get its 512GB version at the same price if you pre-order it.
The phone uses the same flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip used in other Galaxy S25 series phones. It also uses the titanium frame, 200MP primary camera, and 12MP front camera used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, it misses out on a telephoto (optical zoom) camera and its battery capacity has taken a hit.
