Samsung has, or at least had, high hopes for the Galaxy S25 Edge. When it announced the ultra-slim titanium phone a little over a week ago, the company claimed that the S25 Edge would “accelerate important innovation across the mobile industry.” However, early signs don't look as positive and might indicate that pre-orders are lagging, at least in some markets.
Let's get this out of the way first: There are no official Galaxy S25 Edge pre-order figures yet, so we can't be sure how well or badly the phone is selling. But if you know your Samsung history, you know that might be part of the problem in and of itself.
Usually, when things go well during the first week of availability, Samsung Korea is eager to share first-week pre-order figures with the public. That's not what we're seeing.
Today, after a week of pre-orders, Samsung issued a press release in Korea, sharing photos captured at the Galaxy S25 Edge's debut and celebrating its launch. Disappointingly, there was no mention of first-week pre-order numbers.
Another sign pointing to the possibility that early Galaxy S25 Edge sales may have fallen below expectations in some markets is that pre-order bonuses are changing. In the Netherlands, at the very least, Samsung has already spiced up its pre-order bonuses two times in one week.
Early buyer bonuses don't usually change if early sales are positive. Why would they? Why fix what isn't broken?
However, in the Netherlands, over the course of one week, Samsung went from offering a free storage upgrade with every Galaxy S25 Edge pre-order to adding a 10% voucher as a pre-order gift. Now, Samsung Netherlands added another bonus in the form of an extra €100 voucher.
To be clear, this is not a hard confirmation that early Galaxy S25 Edge sales are poor, but it is odd. We are beginning to wonder if the ultra-slim phone may have underperformed in some regions.
On the bright side, if Samsung improved Galaxy S25 Edge pre-order bonuses in one week in the Netherlands, it may have done the same in other markets. So, if you thought the free storage upgrade wasn't a good enough incentive, you might want to recheck your local Samsung e-shop and see if the company has spiced up the Galaxy S25 Edge pre-order gifts in your region. You might get a better deal now compared to last week.
