A new leak has shed a bit more light on Samsung's design approach for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra. The phone may have thinner display bezels than its predecessor, but the camera bump will be thicker, too.
According to data shared by Ice Universe on X, the Galaxy S27 Ultra's display bezels will measure only 1.28mm. Comparatively, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has 1.32mm bezels.
The leak also suggests the Galaxy S27 Ultra's camera bump will have a thickness of 4.69mm, making it slightly chunkier than the S26 Ultra's camera housing. The latter measures roughly 4.5-4.6mm.
We're still a few months away from 2027, so the exact date for the next major Galaxy Unpacked event is unknown. But based on existing patterns, Samsung should announce the Galaxy S27 Ultra in January or February.
It won't be alone. The Ultra model is expected to be accompanied by the S26, S26+, and S26 Pro. If true, the latter would mark the first brand-new entry into the mainline Galaxy S series in years.
For next year's flagships, Samsung may actually attack the design language problem from two different angles. On the one hand, the base Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ may retain a familiar design, featuring a vertical camera layout.
On the other hand, the Pro and Ultra models are said to introduce a new camera housing that extends almost across the entire width of the phones.
From the front, however, the Galaxy S27 Ultra may look a little more refined than the 2026 model because of the slightly slimmer bezels.
