Samsung has been on a mission this year to make thin and light devices. It started off with a bang earlier this year with the Galaxy S25 Edge, one of the slimmest flagship-level slab phones from the company.
It carried on with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 which happens to be the thinnest foldable phone in the world. Samsung has carried this quest for perfection to its tablet series, with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra being both thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
Last year's Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra was quite thin and light, certainly an outlier among Android tablets, at 5.4mm thin and weighing 718g for the Wi-Fi variant.
There's always room for improvement, and Samsung found it for the newest flagship tablet. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra measures just 5.1mm thin and weighs 692g. This is a noticeable improvement and you feel the difference in your hand.
It does sort of boggle the mind that a device that's so thin and light also happens to be one of the most powerful Android tablets on the market right now. This makes it a very compelling option for customers who want a highly capable device without it weighing them down.
Samsung has started selling the Galaxy Tab S11 series from today, September 4, in select markets. It's available in Gray and Silver colors. This is also the first tablet lineup from Samsung that comes with One UI 8 out of the box.
