In May 2024, Google upgraded Gemini with the ability to analyse files and answer questions about them. However, it only supported documents and images. Well, the brand has now added support for videos too, to the GenAI virtual assistant, allowing people to upload a video to it and ask questions about it.
Google has made the new feature available on all the major platforms, including Gemini for Android, iOS, and the web. What’s even better is that the company has made the feature available to all. That is, for both the paid and free tiers of the chatbot. Here's how to use this feature.
To use the feature, open Gemini, tap on the text input field to enter a prompt, select the icon resembling the plus sign, tap on “Gallery” or “Files,” and select a video. Once you do that, a small preview of the video will pop up in the text input field. Now, type your command or query about the video, and hit the send button.
Gemini will now analyse the video, find the answer to your question, and provide you with an answer. Google is offering the new feature on Android and iOS with an update to the app.
