CAIRO — On behalf of Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khereiji attended the 166th ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in Cairo on Monday. The meeting, held at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters, reviewed the progress of joint Arab action and ways to develop its mechanisms to meet the aspirations of member states and their peoples. It also discussed the importance of intensifying Arab coordination to halt Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as blatant Iranian attacks on a number of Arab countries, which resulted in targeting civilians and vital facilities. The meeting also addressed developments on the Arab and international arenas, including the security and safety of international waterways and ensuring freedom of maritime navigation, the need for the Strait of Hormuz to return to its normal status, and efforts to enhance security and stability for the region and its peoples. Al-Khereiji also attended a meeting of the Ministerial Committee tasked with addressing illegal Israeli policies and measures in the occupied city of Jerusalem.The meeting discussed ways to strengthen joint Arab efforts to halt Israeli violations and attacks against Jerusalem and the occupied territories.It also addressed ways to counter Israel's blatant measures in Palestine, expansionist policies, and settlement and displacement operations in violation of international law.
