Samsung SDI, la branche dédiée aux batteries du géant coréen, teste actuellement un prototype de 20 000 mAh basé sur une chimie silicium-carbone. Cette technologie promet une autonomie record de 27 heures d'écran allumé, soit 3 à 4 jours d'usage réel. Cependant, un problème majeur de gonflement met pour l'instant un frein au projet, en plus des obstacles réglementaires.
