MAKKAH — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the suspension of two Umrah service providing companies after identifying violations of their contractual obligations. The investigation revealed that the companies had failed to provide accommodation services to pilgrims in accordance with the terms of the approved contracts. The ministry confirmed that, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, it has initiated legal proceedings against the foreign agents contracted by the two companies. The ministry stated that it had discovered the arrival of a number of pilgrims from Egypt to the Kingdom without the provision of their approved accommodation, despite such services being explicitly included in the contractual programs. This represents a clear breach of the regulations and instructions governing services for Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. The ministry affirmed that it acted immediately to secure appropriate accommodation for all affected pilgrims. It emphasized that the measures undertaken were prompt and fully aligned with the approved regulatory frameworks, thereby safeguarding the rights of the affected pilgrims, preventing the recurrence of such violations, and reinforcing the quality of services provided to the guests of God. The ministry added that this action reflects its ongoing efforts to ensure that Umrah companies and institutions adhere strictly to their approved contracts, as well as its commitment to enhancing service standards for pilgrims in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030. The ministry stressed that it will not tolerate any negligence or breach of contractual obligations, underscoring that the rights of pilgrims remain a top priority and that the quality of services provided is a non-negotiable standard. It called upon all Umrah companies and establishments to comply fully with the approved regulations and instructions and to deliver services in accordance with contractual provisions.
