RIYADH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that hot to very hot weather will persist in parts of Saudi Arabia from Sunday through next Wednesday. Heat wave is expected to affect the Eastern Province, as well as the eastern and southern parts of the Riyadh region, with maximum temperatures in the affected areas expected to range between 47 and 50 degrees Celsius. The NCM urged the public to stay updated on the latest weather developments through its website and official social media accounts. The center noted that thunderstorms accompanied by hail may still occur in parts of the highlands of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah. It also indicated that the effects of active winds, which may stir up dust and sand, will continue in parts of Tabuk and Najran. These conditions could reduce horizontal visibility to near-zero or zero levels in the coastal areas of Madinah and Makkah, extending along the coastal road to Jazan.
