JEDDAH — A red alert for heavy rain and possible flash floods has been issued for parts of Al-Baha on Monday, as the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) forecasts moderate to heavy thunderstorms, hail and active winds across parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah and Madinah. The NCM said the red alert covers Al-Qara, Al-Mandaq, Baljurashi and Bani Hassan in Al-Baha from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. An orange alert for moderate rain was also issued for Al-Hajrah, Al-Aqiq, Al-Makhwah, Fara'at Ghamid Al-Zinad and Qilwah in Al-Baha from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., with strong winds, near-zero horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods and thunderstorms expected. Moderate to heavy thunderstorms capable of causing flash floods, accompanied by hail and active winds, are also forecast over parts of Jazan, Asir, Makkah and Madinah. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for light fog was issued for Umluj in Tabuk Region from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., with horizontal visibility expected to fall to 3–5 km. Active surface winds are forecast over parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh, as well as parts of Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders. Fog may also form during the night and early morning over parts of the southwestern highlands, Makkah Region and the Eastern Province. For temperatures, Madinah is forecast to record the highest temperature at 43°C, followed by Dammam and Buraidah at 42°C, and Riyadh, Makkah and Sakaka at 41°C. Hail and Arar are forecast to reach 40°C, followed by Tabuk at 39°C, Jazan and Najran at 37°C, Jeddah at 36°C, Abha at 29°C and Al-Baha at 28°C. Humidity is forecast to reach 100 percent in Dammam, 95 percent in Jeddah, 85 percent in Abha, 80 percent in Jazan, 70 percent in Makkah and Al-Baha, 45 percent in Riyadh and Tabuk, 35 percent in Arar and Sakaka, 30 percent in Madinah, and 25 percent in Buraidah, Hail and Najran.
