RIYADH — Saudi Arabia is the largest single contributor to the investor base in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, accounting for 26% of total investors during the first half of 2026, according to a report by the MAGNiTT platform. The report cited that the MENA region attracted 243 investors in venture capital rounds during the first half of 2026. The participation of international investors recorded a decline of 48 percent during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year, while the activity of regional investors decreased by 2 percent, leading to an increase in the presence of local and regional investors within the venture capital ecosystem in the region. According to the report, international capital participation dropped by 39 percent compared to the first half of 2026, while investments became more concentrated among the most active investors. The top 10 investors by number of deals accounted for 45 percent of all deals in the MENA region during the first half of 2026, compared to 39 percent during the same period last year. The data for the first half of 2026 reflects the increasing reliance of the MENA venture capital ecosystem on local and regional investors, coinciding with a decline in international participation and a rise in deal concentration among the most active investors.
