JEDDAH — The Council of Ministers reiterated Saudi Arabia’s firm stances and its continuous support for efforts to achieve security and peace and consolidate development and prosperity at the regional and global levels. Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman chaired the Cabinet session in Jeddah on Tuesday.At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his recent meeting with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. During the meeting, they discussed ways to further develop historic and close relations between the two countries across various sectors. The discussion also covered key issues in the Arab and Islamic worlds, developments in the Middle East, and ongoing efforts to address matters related to the region’s security and stability. The Crown Prince also informed the Cabinet about the contents of a message he received from President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet reviewed recent developments in the work of joint committees between Saudi Arabia and several friendly nations. The Council discussed ongoing progress in coordination and cooperative initiatives, further strengthening and expanding both bilateral and multilateral relations.Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed several internal reports. The Council expressed its deep appreciation for the broad public engagement with national initiatives designed to promote the values of solidarity and giving, while supporting charitable work and maximizing its humanitarian and developmental impacts across all Saudi regions.The Cabinet authorized the chairman of the board of directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) or his deputy to sign a draft memorandum of cooperation between Darah and the Kyrgyz Ministry of Digital Development, and authorized the minister of interior or his deputy to discuss and sign with the Pakistani side a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi and Pakistani ministries of interior in the field of scientific, training, and research cooperation.The Cabinet approved a MoU on political consultations between the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and another MoU between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Estonia for cooperation in promoting direct investment. The Council authorized the minister of environment, water and agriculture or his deputy to discuss and sign with the Turkmen side a draft MoU between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan in the field of environmental protection, and authorized the minister of health or his deputy to discuss and sign with the Pakistani and Dutch sides draft MoU on cooperation in the health sector between the Saudi Ministry of Health, the Pakistani Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport.The Cabinet approved two agreements between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Kiribati and Cuba in the field of air transport services, and another MoU between the Saudi General Authority for Awqaf and the Omani Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the field of endowments.The Cabinet approved the guiding model for a MoU for cooperation in the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space between the Saudi Space Agency and its counterpart entities in other countries, and authorized the minister of communications and information technology, the Saudi Space Agency board chairman or his deputy to discuss and sign with counterpart entities in other countries the draft MoU regarding the guiding model. The Cabinet approved the merger of National Competitiveness Center and the Saudi Center for Economic Business to create a single entity called the "Saudi Center for Competitiveness and Business," and endorsed its organizational structure. The Council also accorded approval to extend the pilot period for implementing the Official Communications and Documents Preservation Regulations for one year.
