RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s investments in US Treasury bonds recorded an annual increase of $10.7 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025, according to the US Treasury Department’s monthly report released on Thursday. The report revealed that this figure represents an 8 percent increase. The report also indicated that Saudi Arabia’s investments in US Treasury bonds and bills posted a monthly decline of 0.1 percent representing $100 million in July, reaching $142.4 billion. The Kingdom’s holdings are distributed between $110.2 billion in long-term bonds and bills, accounting for 77 percent and approximately $32.2 billion in short-term bonds and bills, that make up 23 percent.Global holdings of US Treasury bonds and bills declined by $50.4 billion in July, falling to approximately $9,248.1 billion from $9,298.5 billion in June 2026, a decrease of 0.5 percent.Saudi Arabia ranked 17th among the holders of US Treasury bonds and bills. Japan remains the largest holder of US Treasury bonds and bills, with $1.10 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with $998.3 billion, and China in third place with $618.0 billion. Belgium ranked fourth with $470.7 billion, followed by the Cayman Islands with $460.1 billion and Luxembourg with $442.1 billion. Canada ranked sixth with $426.3 billion, followed by Ireland with $350.2 billion, France $348.4 billion, Taiwan $296.1 billion, Switzerland $284.8 billion, Singapore $277.7 billion, Hong Kong $258.32 billion, Norway $206.9 billion, India $202.6 billion, and Brazil $168 billion.
