RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s service imports reached approximately SR120.8 billion in Q2 of 2026, while service exports totaled SR59.5 billion, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). Service imports increased by 8.4 percent from SR111.4 billion in the first quarter, with travel service imports rising 17 percent quarter-on-quarter, one of the main factors contributing to the overall increase. Transport services recorded the highest import value at SR34.1 billion, with maritime transport accounting for 40.8 percent of transport service imports. Travel service imports reached SR25 billion, with personal travel representing 92 percent of the total. Other business service imports reached SR18.8 billion, followed by construction services at SR14.5 billion, government services at SR7.3 billion, insurance and pension services at SR6 billion, and telecommunications, computer and information services at SR4 billion. Meanwhile, service exports declined by 16.5 percent from SR71.3 billion in the first quarter, mainly due to a 23.6 percent quarter-on-quarter decline in travel service exports. Travel remained the largest service export category at SR33.8 billion, with personal travel accounting for 93.9 percent of total travel service exports. Transport services ranked second at SR10.5 billion, with air transport accounting for 39 percent of transport service exports. Telecommunications, computer and information service exports reached SR2.6 billion, while other business services totaled SR2.3 billion. Construction and government service exports each reached SR1.8 billion, while financial service exports totaled SR1.5 billion.
