JEDDAH — Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected to continue over parts of the southwestern highlands on Wednesday, while hot to extremely hot weather will persist across several parts of the Kingdom, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). According to the NCM’s city forecasts, thunderstorms are expected in Abha and Al-Baha, while Jeddah, Jazan, Riyadh, Buraidah, Arar, and Sakaka are forecast to experience dust or dust-raising conditions. Meanwhile, Madinah is expected to see partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy, while Makkah, Hail, Dammam, and Najran are forecast to be partly cloudy. As for the heatwave, the Eastern Province, as well as parts of the Riyadh, Madinah, and Makkah regions, will continue to experience high temperatures. Riyadh is forecast to reach a high of 45°C, while temperatures are expected to climb to 44°C in Makkah, 46°C in Madinah, 40°C in Jeddah, and 45°C in Dammam. Elsewhere, highs of 41°C are expected in Tabuk and Najran, 46°C in Buraidah, 42°C in Hail, 44°C in Arar and Sakaka, 38°C in Jazan, 33°C in Abha, and 32°C in Al-Baha. Active winds are forecast to affect parts of the Riyadh, Jazan, Asir, Makkah, Najran, the Northern Borders, Hail, and Al-Qassim regions, while dust-raising winds are expected over parts of the Eastern Province, the Northern Borders, Hail, Al-Qassim, Makkah, and Najran. Tabuk is also expected to experience active winds.
