JEDDAH — Thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds are expected over parts of the Kingdom on Tuesday, while temperatures are forecast to reach up to 48°C in some areas, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). For temperatures, Riyadh is forecast to reach a high of 47°C, while Makkah is expected to reach 43°C, Madinah 42°C, and Jeddah 41°C. Dammam is expected to record the highest temperature among the listed cities at 48°C. Elsewhere, highs of 30°C are expected in Abha, 37°C in Tabuk, 46°C in Buraidah, 41°C in Hail and Najran, 32°C in Al-Baha, 40°C in Arar, 39°C in Sakaka, and 38°C in Jazan. As for the NCM's rain forecast, thundery rain accompanied by hail and active winds is expected to continue over parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, as well as the highlands of the Makkah region. Thunderclouds are also expected over parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh. Active surface winds stirring up dust and sand are expected over parts of those regions, as well as parts of Najran and Madinah. Fog may form over the highlands of the southwestern parts of the Kingdom, while horizontal visibility may become nearly or completely reduced over the southern coastal parts of the Makkah region. For individual cities, Riyadh is forecast to be partly cloudy, while Makkah is expected to be partly cloudy with active winds. Madinah is forecast to experience active winds. Jeddah is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with active winds, while Dammam is forecast to be clear to partly cloudy. Abha is expected to experience thundery rain and active winds, while Tabuk is forecast to have clear skies. Buraidah and Hail are expected to be clear to partly cloudy. Al-Baha is forecast to experience rain-bearing thunderclouds and active winds, while Arar is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with active winds. Sakaka is forecast to experience active winds. Jazan is expected to experience thundery rain, active winds, and raised dust, while Najran is forecast to be partly cloudy with active winds and suspended dust.
