At CES 2025, Samsung unveiled new lineups of OLED, Neo QLED, The Frame, and The Frame Pro televisions for this year. Apart from some very useful AI-powered features part, including the one that can recognise actors in a scene and let you explore content that’s being displayed, the new models also bring a very useful SmartThings feature: Pet and Family Care. Let’s take a look at what it does.
The Pet and Family Care feature leverages the TV’s camera and microphone to detect unusual behaviour, such as falls and break-ins, and notify you about it on your smartphone. Samsung says that you can also have this feature recognise situations and adjust settings of smart home devices accordingly. For example, you can setup it up to dim the lights when you sleeping turn up the brightness when you wake up.

Needless to say, this feature will work only with models that have inbuilt camera and as you might expect, only high-end models have one So, don't expect to see Pet and Family Care on many models. It is worth mentioning that this feature is a part of Samsung Vision AI, a project for offering AI features across various types of connected devices.
