Samsung is bringing some upgrades with the Galaxy S25 series, including a faster processor, more software features, and improved cameras. It is also bringing a much-needed upgrade to the base variant of the Galaxy S25. The phone is getting 12GB RAM instead of 8GB.

Base version of Galaxy S25 has 12GB RAM, Ultra has up to 16GB RAM

The base version of the Galaxy S25 (SM-S931N) meant for the South Korean market has been spotted in Geekbench's database. It features 12GB RAM (10.97GB identified), which is 50% more than the Galaxy S24's 8GB RAM.

This offers enough headroom for users. Even those who multitask between plenty of apps should find the Galaxy S25 good enough. The Galaxy S25+ reportedly features 12GB RAM, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to come in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants.

As you can see in the image above, the Galaxy S24 is running Android 15 (most likely One UI 7.0). It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with an octa-core CPU featuring two high-performance cores clocked at 4.47GHz and six performance cores clocked at 2.53GHz.

The phone scored 2,48 points in the single-core CPU performance test and 8,658 points in the multi-core CPU performance test. That is around 15% faster in single-core performance and around 30% faster in multi-core performance.

The Galaxy S25 was earlier expected to feature the Exynos 2500 chip in most countries and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip in some countries. However, a recent report claimed that Samsung has chosen to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip exclusively in all Galaxy S25 series phones.

The Exynos 2500 chip is said to have a very low yield (percentage of chips that pass quality standards), which has reportedly forced Samsung to use the Snapdragon chip instead.
