Have you been wondering why your Galaxy smartphone has not notified you of a new update this month and why there's nothing available even when you check for updates manually? Well, you're not alone.

Samsung releases monthly security updates for several Galaxy smartphones, and it rolled out the November 2024 update for some devices at the beginning of this month. However, things slowed down soon after. As we head into December, plenty of popular devices have not received the latest security update.

Even updates released for some devices in early November didn't get a global rollout until a few weeks later. The Galaxy S23 series, for example, got this month's update in the US on November 5, but the update didn't start reaching other markets until the 19th. It still hasn't reached many countries, including the entire European continent and most of Asia.

Samsung's work on the Android 15 and One UI 7.0 update may have something to do with this. One UI 7.0 will be almost as massive as the very first version of One UI when it comes to the changes it will make to the user experience, which has forced Samsung to push the official release of One UI 7.0 to 2025 and could also have made the company delay these monthly updates.

Hopefully this means the hotly anticipated One UI 7.0 beta program is coming soon. Samsung has amped up testing of One UI 7.0 for various devices in recent weeks, and rumors suggest the first beta update could start rolling out in the first two weeks of December.

For now, you will have to be content with the fact that you're not the only one with a Galaxy smartphone that hasn't received the latest security update. Don't stop checking for updates, though. You can do that from your phone's Settings » Software update menu and also in the SamMobile firmware library.
