Samsung’s Galaxy A14 5G is getting a new software update. It offers the December 2024 security patch, which fixes a lot of security issues. At the moment, the update is live for SM-A146M, which is a variant of the device that the brand sells in Central and South America. The version of the new firmware is A146MUBU8CXL3. Other variants of the device should get the update soon.
If you have the Galaxy A14 5G, it might have already send you a notification about the availability of the latest security update. Open the notification panel and tap the notification to get the update. If you don’t see one, you can check for the new firmware manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
The Galaxy A14 5G is currently on Samsung’s Quarterly Security Update schedule, so it gets security updates once in every three months. Speaking of updates, the phone is eligible for Android 15 / One UI 7.0, which brings many new features that you can check out in the video below.
We expect Samsung to roll out the new software after the next Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will launch the Galaxy S25 series. The company will offer the update to high-end devices first and then bring it to mid-range and low-end devices. So, you will have to wait at least a few months to get the update.
