One UI 7.0 is a massive upgrade in terms of design, feature set, and overall speed and smoothness. It also brings several new Galaxy AI features, especially on the Galaxy S25 series. It has been discovered that it can also suggest replies to messages on WhatsApp.

Galaxy AI can suggest replies to messages on WhatsApp

Even though Samsung spent most of the time talking about Galaxy AI during the announcement of the Galaxy S25, it still didn't have time to talk about all the new features it brings. A new Galaxy AI feature called Suggested Replies has been discovered on the Galaxy S25 running One UI 7.0.

It uses Generative AI to suggest replies to chat and text messages when using Samsung Keyboard. It works with regular text messages and third-party messaging apps, including WhatsApp. This feature is turned off by default, and you can turn it on by navigating to Settings » Advanced features » Labs » Suggested replies and activating the toggle.

When you are in a messaging app and using Samsung Keyboard, a series of suggested replies appear in chips floating above the keyboard. You can scroll through them by swiping horizontally. When you select any of those suggested replies, they are placed into the text box and not sent automatically. So, you have control over it and can change your mind even after selecting a suggested reply.

This feature might not work with all messaging apps, as app developers must provide conversational data to Android System Intelligence on the phone. It isn't clear if this data is processed by Google's Gemini Nano (although Galaxy S25 has support for it) or Samsung's in-house AI models.

You don't need to worry about your conversations making it to the internet, as all the processing happens on the device. The data isn't sent to the internet (or servers) for processing. Watch all the important Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S25 and One UI 7.0 in our video below.

This new Suggested Replies feature is different from the existing Suggested Replies feature available on devices running One UI 6.1.1 and One UI Watch 6. The older feature gathers data from notifications, while the newer one has access to conversations, which means that the newer feature should work better as it has more context.

You can also use Galaxy AI's Writing Assist feature to improve the language and tone of anything you are writing. Earlier, it only worked with Samsung Keyboard. However, with One UI 7.0, its Samsung Keyboard dependency has been removed, and it now works with any keyboard or app.
