Samsung is swiftly rolling out the One UI 7.0 update for all its devices. The latest phone to get the update is the Galaxy A16. It received the update in South Korea yesterday, and now, the update is available in more Asian countries. It could expand to more regions soon.
The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is now rolling out to the Galaxy A16 4G in Iraq and Malaysia. The update comes with firmware version A165FXXU3BYE6 and has a download size of around 3.1GB. It includes the May 2025 security patch to make the phone more secure.

If you are a Galaxy A16 (4G) user and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update right away. To do that, you must navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded on your device, tap the Install Now button on the screen. Once the installation progress starts, the phone will be inoperable for some time and then restart after a few minutes.
The One UI 7.0 update brings a massive UI redesign. It now has two separate pages for Notifications and Quick Panel. It also brings a new battery icon in the status bar, a new charging animation, new stock app icons, an easier-to-use stock Camera app, and a lot more widgets. Samsung has also introduced a new widget styling.

The update also brings the ability to set Google's Gemini as the default AI assistant on the phone, and you can access it by long pressing the power button. One UI 7 also brings Now Bar, a new UI element that displays ongoing activities, like music player or stopwatch, on the lock screen and in the status bar. It also brings smoother and more playful animations and transitions.
