The November 2024 security update for Galaxy devices hasn't had the smoothest rollout. Samsung has been unusually slow with bringing this month's security update to phones both new and old, but it seems the company is finally picking up the pace now that December is almost here.
Today, the November update is rolling out to the Galaxy A33, the 2022 model that turned the boring Galaxy A3x line of phones into something interesting. It's also available for the Galaxy A34.
The update sports the build number A336BXXSCEXK1 and A346BXXU9CXK1 for the A33 and A34 respectively. It is packed with fixes for 38 vulnerabilities in the core Android OS and 13 in Samsung One UI. For the Galaxy A34, the update also includes general reliability improvements.
The update is available for European users at the time of writing. There's no telling when it will arrive in other regions, because even for devices that have received the November update, Samsung has taken longer than usual to expand the rollout to all countries following the initial release. That may be the case for the Galaxy A33 and A34 as well.
If the update is available in your country, your phone will eventually notify you on its own. But if you're done waiting, you can manually check for new updates by selecting the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu. You may also download the latest firmware from SamMobile; just make sure you have a Windows PC and a USB cable to install it on the phone.
